Artists Manifesto for Access : Talking Birds is a partner on the Artists Manifesto for Access, created by Coventry artists in collaboration with Dan Thompson as part of Access Coventry, an initiative aimed at equipping artists in the city to more meaningfully implement access into their practice.
Ethical Fundraising Toolkit: This Ethical Fundraising Toolkit was produced through a series of conversations between members of Geese Theatre Company, Fierce, MAIA, Open Theatre, Ort Gallery and Talking Birds. We hope it will help you make decisions about whether to apply for, or accept, funding or commissions; equip you to have these conversations with your stakeholder communities; help you to shape your own Ethical Fundraising Policy; and perhaps even prompt you to open a dialogue with your funders. We recently ran a half-day practical workshop with the Scottish Contemporary Arts Network, opening up some of the areas of discussion from the Toolkit – if this is something you would be interested in booking for your own group or network, please get in touch.
Nest Code: Obviously the Nest Code is is a bit specific to our building, but we know there are many spaces held by artists that are rehearsing and building better futures, working regeneratively so you might find this useful.
Regenerative Creative Practice: If you are interested in why we call our work Regenerative Creative Practice, read this first!
Environmental Policies: Our Environment and Climate Justice Policy and Action Plan is available on our website here – its a working document and is pretty much always in need of updating because understanding grows and things change all the time, but we have found it a good and useful format. There are lots of brilliant resources made by others on a similar path that helped in the writing of this and when we can get round to it, we’ll pull a list together to share, but a good place to start is this excellent Climate Action Checklist made by BristolBathCreative.
